Devotional: A Season for Everything
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."
— Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)
As summer fades and the crispness of autumn begins to move in, we’re reminded that life—like nature—moves in seasons. Some are filled with growth and celebration; others bring pruning, rest, or redirection.
Scripture tells us that God is present in every season—not just the comfortable ones. He uses times of change to teach, shape, and draw us nearer to Him. Even when transitions feel unsettling, we can trust that they are not without purpose.
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
— Deuteronomy 31:8 (NIV)
The shifting seasons in our external world can mirror what's happening in our internal lives. A new school year, a job change, a move, or the quiet of an empty nest—these are not just life events, but spiritual invitations. Invitations to slow down, realign, and listen for God's guidance.
We don’t have to resist the changes. We can lean into them with faith, knowing that God holds the entire arc of our story.
🌾 Self-Reflection:
What kind of season are you in emotionally or spiritually right now?
Is there something God may be inviting you to let go of—or step into?
How have you seen God's faithfulness in past transitions?
What rhythms or habits could help you stay anchored in Him during this time?
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
— Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)
Remember that no matter what is changing around you, God remains constant.
